Dexamethasone (brand names include: Decadron / Maxidex / DexPak / Dexasone / Diodex / Decdan) belongs to a group of medicines called glucocorticoids.

Dexamethasone is a potent anti-inflammatory and immunosuppressant drug, used to treat a number of inflammatory, allergic, rheumatic, endocrine, dermatologic, and autoimmune disorders.

Dexamethasone is also used in oncology patients, including those undergoing chemotherapy.
